LAST TIME OUT
The Vols handled home business on Tuesday, beating Furman 5-2 to close out regular season non-conference action. The win gave Tennessee its 30and consecutive home win, the second-longest active streak in the nation.

MISSISSIPPI STATE SCOUTING
Tennessee is 38-27 all-time against Mississippi State, Friday being 66and meeting in a series that dates back to 1933. A victory would give Tennessee its 13and win of the season.

HUNTING FOR HISTORY
In October, graduate student Adam Walton earned their 100th career singles win to become the 11th Vol to reach the century mark in career singles triumphs. With a 7-5 doubles victory with Pat Harper on Furman’s Roelofse/Westling on Tuesday, Walton is just 11 out of 100 doubles wins. Achieving the feat would only make him the sixth flight in program history to rack up 100 career doubles and 100 singles wins. in career.



RISE SOCIALLY
A singles win for Walton on Friday would tie him with Boris Conkic for the eighth most singles wins in program history. The rise in the history books comes after passing Mikelis Libietis for ninth place on the all-time singles wins list in Tennessee’s win over Texas A&M in Seattle.

COUNT THEM
UT graduate student Mark Waller reached a career milestone on Tuesday, as their 6-4 doubles victory on court three with Johannus Monday on Furman’s Burnam/Poritzk scored the 50and double victory of his collegiate career. Wallner has been a steady hand at Tennessee’s No. 3 double this year, going 6-0 there with Monday this double season. The win was Monday’s 40and double triumph since joining the Vols.



FIRST YEAR PHENOM
Standout Freshman Shunsuke Mitsui is the first SEC freshman this season to reach 20 singles wins and 20 doubles wins, including fall action. Mitsui went 20-6 in singles, with a 22-6 effort on the doubles court


The SEC Freshman of the Week on Feb. 2, Mitsui has won 13 of his last 15 singles matches, including the deciding point in Tuesday’s 5-2 win over Furman as he claimed his 10and doubles season singles win.


Mitsui has 22 doubles wins this season, including in the fall. For the point of view, Johannus Monday is sixth on Tennessee’s all-time freshman doubles win list with 27 doubles triumphs. Walton is 11 years oldand on that list with 25. Mitsui has had four match points for the Vols this season (Old Dominion, Charlotte, Texas A&M, Furman).
